Description

The Cavapoo is a crossbreed between a Toy/Miniature Poodle and Cavalier King Charles Spaniel. The Cavapoo can be brown, blonde, white, black, gold and tawny. Their coat is hypoallergenic. The breed has a round face and long ears. The Cavapoo is considered a low maintenance dog as some owners prefer to keep their coat groomed fairly short. If the owner would like a long coat, then daily brushing would be required.

Exercise/Energy Level

Cavapoos require a modest level of exercise daily. One short walk per day is all that is required to keep the dog healthy. The Cavapoos are very gentle and loving dogs who get along very well with children. Cavapoos prefer the interaction iwth humans. Training should be light-hearted and fun rather than a harsh strict tone. Young puppys are inquisitive who have a short attention span. They will learn the rules if there is consistency in their training.

Health Awareness

The Cavapoo's lifespan is between 13-15 years. As the toy poodle and miniature poodle can be used for this hybrid, it is prefered that the miniature poodle be used for breeding purposes. Complicantions for Progressive Retinal Atrophy can be found. Other health issues can be congenital heart problems and luxating patellas.
